The goal of turbo/supercharger upgrades is for your vehicle’s engine to produce more power. This is accomplished by burning more fuel in the chamber and for that to happen, the fuel needs oxygen. This has to be done in the correct manner or the fuel simply burns and heads through the exhaust system without producing any power in the engine. Turbo and supercharger upgrades each have their own benefits.
Turbochargers do their work without using power whereas superchargers need power to make power. A turbocharged engine uses the exhaust gasses to spin a turbine that spins a compressor wheel that pumps air. It provides for high RPM power and leaves room for an intercooler. The shortcomings of turbos are that they experience lag and have complex plumbing. We work with several name brands such as Pure Turbos, ProCharger, Garett & Alpha Turbos ranging for cars like BMW, Chevy, Nissan GT-R, Skyline, etc.
A supercharged engine uses the engine’s power to drive a belt, chain, or meshed gears. There are various types of superchargers, including centrifugal, G-lader, twin screw, and roots type. Superchargers do not have lag like a turbo one does and produce less heat. The shortcomings include that the boost achieved cannot exceed the engine RPM and there may not be room for an intercooler.
